Bio-Boost DIGI-SI AGRIFOOD Hackathon
29/05/2024The mael project is excited to share the success of our participation in the BIO-Boost EDIH DIGI-SI DIH AGRIFOOD Hackathon: Bioeconomy 3.0, where one of the key challenges was:
✅ Algae Production as Sustainable Proteins: Exploring algae for new sustainable ingredients and alternative proteins.
This challenge aligned perfectly with the goals of the mael-microalgae project as we continue to explore the potential of microalgae as a game-changing ingredient in sustainable food systems.
To enhance the discussion, we invited AlgEn (Algal Technology Centre) from Slovenia, a pioneering entity in the field of algal technologies. AlgEn’s expertise in biofuels, carbon capture, nutritional compounds, and wastewater treatment showcased how algae-based innovations are shaping the future of food and sustainability.
The hackathon provided an interactive platform for collaboration, innovation, and cross-sector exchange, bringing together international experts from across Europe. Participants worked in teams to develop solutions, applying cutting-edge research, technology, and market insights to advance algae-based food applications.
